Be aware when buying a used bike that is 10+ years old that it will need servicing before any serious riding.

The grease in the bottom bracket and headset as well as the hubs will dry up over the years and this spells disaster for the bearings and races if not repacked.

Tires and tubes and most likely cables will need to be replaced to get optimum performance. If you are able to do this work yourself then you're ahead of the game but if not you can easily spend $100+ having a shop do this work.

Most of my bikes are ready to ride unless otherwise stated with

  • New tires and tubes
  • New cables and cable housings
  • New brake pads
  • New bar wrap
  • New pedals (if needed)
  • fresh lubrication.
